Meet Tracey McMenamy! This wonderful lady is a foster parent for many rescue dogs. Tracey’s husband is a police officer, and his profession is a source of pride for the family, but it is also a source of fear. She is very proud of her husband but she has also spent many sleepless nights fearing for his safety. This year alone 16 officers have been killed in the line of duty in the USA. That is a worrying number.
To honor those men and women, this lady decided to name every single puppy in her new litter after those fallen officers. Her rescue dog had given birth to a litter of ten, and tragically even that number isn’t big enough to use all the names.
What is particularly heartwarming is that a little female pup named Leotta, after officer Noah Leotta, is being adopted by the officer’s family!
Tragically, there are six more remaining names that deserve to be honored, but this large litter was not big enough. Hopefully, Tracey will continue to use this naming code in the next litter. She said that the message of this act is, “Stay safe!” and we couldn’t agree more! Stay safe, wherever you are!
