When Eric heard he only had 5 years to live, he knew he had to do something to change that. Too much work and stress, plus some extra pounds resulted in high blood pressure and Type 2 Diabetes. The last drop was when his flight had to be delayed on one occasion because there was no seat-belt extension that would fit him.
Luckily, the nutritionist he had called, suggested him to adopt a shelter dog. He wanted a dog which had something in common with him, so Peety, a middle aged and obese dog, was the perfect choice. We can say that this was a mutual rescue – Peety’s life was saved the day he was adopted, and after almost a year later Eric’s life was saved thanks to Peety.
By that time, Eric had lost 140 pounds thanks to the change of his everyday nutrition and everyday walks with Peety, stopped taking medications and didn’t suffer from Type 2 Diabetes any more. This is a truly amazing mutual rescue story!
